Musings

Oh but the fools sailed away, oh but the fools lived happily

I questioned a traveler once, what you’ve seen?

What’ve you seen in a travel across oceans, lands and seas?

What’ve you felt in meeting a thousand people speaking thousand tongues?

The traveler stood confounded.

But, have you touched life? Have you grieved death?

Have you heard tears when the night descended?

Have you heard laughter when the sky turned crimson as the sun ascended?

Oh but the fools danced away, oh but the fools lived happily

I once questioned a stranger, what’ve you heard?

The trickle of raindrops in the darkest night?

The sounds of birds returning abode in the twilight?

But, have you felt the pangs of pain?

Have you felt shattered deep inside?

And your eyes melted, remorseful?

And hope, oh but the utter insanity gripped with hope

Like a midnight’s lullaby it goes away, only to return in the darkest times

Or do we belie to ourselves, thinking about hope?

Oh but the fools never think so much, oh but the fools live happily

So what is happiness?

Remorse? To grief in guilt? To die in solitude?
